St. John The Baptist

1st Communion Formation

May 8th Communion Update
Hello Families,
Here are a couple reminders ahead of the mandatory practice taking place on Tuesday May 4th
  • 1st Communion practice will take place on May 4th at 6:00pm in the church, doors will open at 5:45 and we will begin at 6:00. Masks and social distance will be followed
  • If you or your child have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID, notify my office to make alternate arrangements, please do not put others at risk
  • Practice is for students who are listed as receiving their Sacrament on May 8th. If you are receiving this email your child is listed on this date. If this is not correct please contact my office immediately.
  • Only the parent/s and child should plan to attend this practice session.
  • Practice should last approximately 1 hour, this is an estimated time and it  just depends on the process. Confession for all students will immediately follow practice.
  • Sacrament of Confession will be provided for all students preparing for 1st Communion. This will take place immediately following the practice. It is an expectation that students preparing for 1st Communion participate in Reconciliation before receiving the Eucharist.
  • Families will be given a photo order form at practice. This form should be filled out at practice and given to the designated helper at the door, filled out at home and dropped off at the rectory, or filled out and brought to 1st Communion on Saturday. Do not drop these off at the school.
  • Completed Banners should be brought to this practice. If one is not turned in a paper pew marker will be used
  • Handout will be provided on this date with final reminder
  • For May 8th remember that students can have up to 15 guests in attendance. Please come to practice with the number of guests that will be present. No guests will be admitted beyond the 15 per student.
  • Communion Liturgy will be live streamed. Here is the Link- https://youtu.be/rtIJOejOn6M . Link is also accessible on our parish website.
