Faith Formation

Faith Formation is the ongoing journey of ones knowledge and practice in the faith of the Catholic Church. Our Faith Formation programs are intended to meet the person where they are in their Faith life and prepare them for the next steps.

Formation takes on many forms within the parish and school community. 

 

  • Faith Formation Program- All Documents for the Faith Formation Program are linked at the bottom of this page. 
    • This program is developmental and offers children who are enrolled in public school or home schooled the opportunity to learn about the Catholic Faith and the traditions of our faith as well as participate in their Sacramental journey to full initiation into the Catholic Church.  
    • Classes begin when children are in Kindergarten (pre K classes are available as well) and continue through the Sacrament of Confirmation(8th grade or older)
    • Classes meet September through May on Sunday mornings at St John the Baptist School
    • Sacramental Formation: Reconciliation, 1st Communion and Confirmation take place through the Faith Formation weekly program and St John the Baptist School Classroom 
      • Rite of Christian Initiation for Children -This program begins in January for children who wish to receive their Sacraments that year
        • This program is for children 8 years of age and older who are wishing to receive their Sacraments of Initiation up to their current grade 
  • Sports through Catholic Schools
    • Children enrolled in the Faith Formation Program through St John the Baptist are eligible to play sports through the Catholic Youth Organization. Must be a registered parishionre and have been enrolled in the Faith Formation Program for 1 year prior enrolling into a sporting event. 
    • St John the Baptisti is currently taking 5-8th grade students for Girls Volleyball, Cross Country and Soccer. Registration will be via the online site that is linked below. Registration is through August 22nd. 
  • PHYRE Youth Ministry
    • Open to youth in 6th-8th grade as well as High School through College age. 
    • Meets weekly 
      • Trunk or Treat, Family Movie Night
      • Angel Baby Program
      • Liturgical Support
      • Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebrations
      • Lenten Journey
      • Living Stations of the Cross
      • Retreat Ministry

  • Baptism Preparation- Is held every other month in the Mural room of the school. Parents and God parents should plan to attend the in person Baptism Prep Session. Please choose one date from the link below. Please call the Rectory if you have any questions. 
  • Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults-Adults 18 and older who wish to finish their inititation begin the process to recieve full initiation into the Catholic Church, or those adults who need to finish the process of initiation, this program is for you. Please call the Rectory for more information and to sign up for the inquiry session typically held in September.
    • This program is ongoing throughout the year with weekly sessions beginning in September/October

 

  • Adult Faith Enrichment -  
    • Open to all adults who wish to continue their faith journey through bible studies and seasonal reflections.
    • Held on Tuesdays throughout the year in the Mural or Founders Room of the School. Enter Door A
    • Pre Registration is not required. Attend one session or all, it is up to you
