Hello Families,
Program Update- I have been in Diocesan planning sessions to plan for the Re Entry to Faith Formation Classes. As I continue to work with the Diocese, other DRE's, and our Pastor to finalize our re-entry plans for Faith Formation. Our faith formation program will be different as we move forward, I am trying to create a plan that has the safety of our children as well as the necessities of formation to continue to prepare our children for their faith journey.
I do hope to have the plan finalized by the end of July and at that time it will be sent out via mail and posted here in our Faith Formation Tab of the website. I will also post our annual registration forms online as well as mailing and emailing them to families.
I do know our year will be different, I will need to know how to plan for this coming year in regards to how many families/ children will be enrolled so that I can assure enough supplies on hand for each child.
1st Communion Update-Many of our 1st Communion Families have reached out to schedule their child's 1st Communion Date. The choices are as follows. Saturday October 3rd at 12:30, Saturday October 10th at 12:30 as well as individual Communion Dates (You must call the office 219-659-0023 to discuss this option). All paper work and fees must be submitted before the 1st Communion can be scheduled. Based on the current social distancing guidelines there is a limit of 22 families at each of the group Communion dates of Oct 3 and Oct. 10. Each family is permitted a total of 4 people which will include the 1st Communicant. Please call the office at your earliest convenience to schedule your child's sacrament date.
Confirmation Update/Date- As of right now we have not yet heard back from the Bishop on the date for Confirmation. We are at the mercy of the Diocese and the Bishop for this date so please be patient. As soon as I know the date, I will let you know. We requested dates in the month of September.
Once informed of the date, you will then be able to call my office and schedule your child's Sacrament for the the selected time and date of your choice. However, families must have all of their forms (Sponsor, Sacramental Record and Fees) submitted prior to scheduling.
All families received a letter a few weeks ago in regards to missing items, please call my office if you have any questions about that letter. If you need an update on what is needed please email me directly.
